Pigs can see the wind

12 July · England

Lore and belief

It was a country notion that pigs could see the wind, because before a gale swine ran squealing about as if they were mad. Forster recorded it among the weather signs he gathered in mid July, beside the barking of dogs at night and pigeons slow to return to the dovecote before rain.

Before Wind, Swine run squeaking about as though they were mad; which has given rise to the notion that Pigs can see the Wind.
