Stockings Inside Out

It was thought lucky to put on a garment inside out by accident, especially a stocking. To keep the luck you had to go on wearing it that way until you would normally take it off, since setting it right would change the luck, and doing it on purpose was no use at all. The same correspondent adds that the clothes of the dead never wear long when they are given away to the poor.
