Every year on 27 November a sermon was preached at the Baptist chapel in Little Wild Street, Lincoln’s Inn Fields, in memory of the Great Storm of 1703. It was founded by Joseph Taylor, a Paternoster Row bookseller and member of the chapel, who had been spared in the storm and left a small sum in trust to keep the sermon going. Hone printed the notice for the 1825 sermon and noted that it had been preached regularly ever since.
