Aberystwyth Town Council holds a parade each January for Santes Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers, whose day is 25 January. A giant puppet of Dwynwen is walked through the town with a band and anyone who wants to join in, in their brightest colours, and the afternoon ends with Welsh folk dancing. It began in 2023 and 2026 was its fourth year.
