Rides fill Horsefair, North Bar, the Market Place and Bridge Street. The Mayor opens the fair on the Wednesday afternoon; on the Saturday it opens at midday.

About

Banbury’s fairs were confirmed by charters of 1554 and 1608, and the Michaelmas fair was the town’s mop or hiring fair, held after Old Michaelmas Day. It now runs from Wednesday to Saturday through the middle of the town, and the Mayor’s Golden Key ceremony gives children free rides.
