The Lions Part’s Holly Man, a winter version of the Green Man dressed in evergreens, is piped in from the Thames and wassails the crowd, the river and the Globe. Mummers then perform a St George play, and cakes with a bean and a pea hidden inside choose a King and Queen for the day. It is free and goes ahead in any weather.
