Beltane Fire Society has marked the eve of May on Calton Hill since 1988, drawing on the old Gaelic festival of Beltane. The May Queen and the Green Man lead a procession of drummers and fire performers round the hill, a need fire is lit, and summer is welcomed with a bonfire. Tickets must be bought in advance.
