Tar barrel racing opens the evening at about 18:30, and the torchlit processions follow from about 19:30. The grand procession ends at Fairfield Recreation Ground, where the bonfire and fireworks are at about 21:45.

About

Burgess Hill Bonfire Society opens the Sussex bonfire season on the last Saturday of September. Its members race burning tar barrels through the streets and march in costume with flaming torches, alongside visiting societies, before the bonfire and fireworks on Fairfield Recreation Ground.
