Derry’s Halloween festival, one of the largest in Europe, fills the walled city with several nights of free street events at the end of October. Its centrepiece is the carnival parade on Halloween night, when community groups, floats and crowds in fancy dress take over the streets before the fireworks.

Guildhall Square
The parade sets off at 19:00 and winds through the city centre, followed by fireworks over the River Foyle at about 20:15. Guildhall Square is the hub of the festival. The crowds are very large, so arrive early.
