The Poppers are fired on Leon Recreation Ground, off Leon Avenue just south of Queensway, at 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00. Expect very loud bangs, and the grass can be muddy.

About

Six small cast iron cannon, the Fenny Poppers, are packed with gunpowder and set off one after another with a red hot iron rod on St Martin’s Day. The custom has been kept since the 18th century and is linked to Browne Willis, the antiquary who built St Martin’s Church in Fenny Stratford.
