The Woodbourne

Groups meet in several towns and villages on the morning of St Stephen's Day. In Douglas they gather outside the Woodbourne at 10:15; there are also groups in Port St Mary, Ramsey, St John's and other villages, with a game of cammag at St John's at 14:00.

About

One of the oldest Manx customs. Groups carry a pole hung with greenery, ribbons and a replica wren through the streets, singing the Hunt the Wren song and dancing round the pole. The bird has long been an imitation.
