Laa Boaldyn, the Manx May Day, marked the start of summer, when small crosses of rowan twigs called croish cuirn were hung on doors and gates to keep the fairies away from homes and livestock. Manx National Heritage keeps the day at Cregneash with Manx music and dancing, stories, and the chance to make a croish cuirn.

At Cregneash Folk Village in the south of the island. Perree Bane dance at 12:00 and 13:30, and there are crafts and May Day stories round the village, including in Harry Kelly's Cottage.
