The congregation of Capel Minny Street in Cardiff holds a plygain in the museum’s medieval church of St Teilo every January. Plygain began as a candlelit service before dawn on Christmas morning; today parties of singers take turns, unaccompanied and unannounced, to sing old Welsh carols in close harmony. The service is in Welsh, free, and everyone is welcome.
