Tissington dresses its wells every year for Ascension, with pictures made by pressing petals, seeds, bark and other natural materials into boards of clay. The dressings stay up until the following Wednesday evening.

St Mary’s Church
The six dressed wells are spread round the village and can be walked in about an hour. The opening service is at St Mary's Church at 11:00 on Ascension Day, followed by a procession to bless each well.
