Tower Hill fireworks for the King’s birthday

4 June · Tower Hill, London

No longer kept

Each year the artillery train let off a grand firework on Tower Hill on the evening of George III’s birthday. Strutt remembered it himself. It was stopped some years before he wrote, after the people living nearby petitioned against the nuisance.

It was customary, in my memory, for the train of artillery annually to display a grand firework upon Tower-Hill on the evening of his Majesty's birth-day.
