Over the Whitsun holidays Londoners poured out to Islington, Newington and the villages nearby to eat and drink. Poor Robin made a comic list of the tapster, the tailor, the broker and the tripe-seller going out there to get through plum-cakes, bottled ale and stewed prunes. His verse had apprentices and maids running to Tottenham Court and Islington for custard, prunes, ale and cake.

This Month, especially about Whitson-Holy-days, will be a great resort to Islington, Newington, and the Parts adjacent, by Froth the Tapster, Bill the Taylor ... to the great confusion of Plumb-cakes, Bottle-ale and stu'd Prunes.
