At Easter every tenant in Sebergham owed the parson a penny, or a pennyworth of eggs, instead of a tithe hen. The parish’s Easter reckonings also counted small dues on calved cows, foals, bees and ploughs, and fourpence communion money from each husband and wife. In return the minister found the bread and wine every Easter.
