In Wales Easter Day was kept as quietly as any Sunday, but with better food on the table, and lamb was thought the proper dish. Peter Roberts noted that in some places a few of the old Sunday sports and pastimes were still played after morning prayer.

It is also marked by somewhat of better cheer, as a festival, of which lamb is considered as a proper, constituent part.
