Still kept

In the West of England houses were decked for Christmas with myrtle and laurustinum as well as holly and mistletoe. Sandys noted that in his day many flowers unknown to earlier generations, such as the chrysanthemum and satin flower, had joined the Christmas greenery, mingling with the red holly berries and the mistletoe.

In the West of England the myrtle and laurustinum form a pleasing addition.
