No longer kept

Protestants on many of the Hebridean islands still kept Yule and Pasch, Christmas and Easter, as feasts. Strict Presbyterians thought this so horrid a superstition that Pennant heard of a minister censured for having a goose to dinner on Christmas Day. He wrote of it while visiting Canna, whose parish also took in Rum, Muck and Eigg.
